During my stay at Hotel Casantica, I found the location to be ideal, as it’s just a short walk from the main plaza. However, the rooms were quite basic and lacked elegance, which was a bit disappointing. I enjoyed the heated swimming pool, but noise from other guests around the pool made it hard to relax at times.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are small and basic, with strong A/C, but the decor is dated and they can feel claustrophobic. I found the bathrooms functional but a bit worn out.
Service
6.0
Service varied; while I appreciated their valet parking, communication was tricky due to a language barrier and the restaurant service was particularly slow.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is fantastic, being close to the zocalo and many attractions, making it easy to explore the city.
Dining
6.0
Dining was hit or miss; breakfast was decent but service felt slow and I had to pre-order meals which added to the hassle.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had some charm, like a beautiful pool area, but the facilities felt limited, and there were a lot of stairs to navigate.

6.6/10

My stay at Hotel CasAntica had its ups and downs. The location is unbeatable, being close to everything in Oaxaca City. However, the room I got was pretty dark and small, and there was a lot of noise from other guests that made sleeping a bit tough. Overall, it's a charming place, but I think I could find better accommodations next time.

Rooms
6.0
The room was small and dark with minimal natural light. The beds were hard, which made it uncomfortable for sleeping. I did appreciate the cleanliness, though.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, but I found it frustrating that my complaints about noise weren't addressed effectively.
Location
9.0
The location is perfect for exploring, just a short walk to the main attractions. It's super convenient, but the street noise can be quite loud, especially at night.
Dining
6.0
The dining options were okay, but they could definitely improve. The restaurant didn't seem to be open in the evenings, which was a bummer.
Facilities
7.0
The pool was nice to have, even if it was small. I appreciated that there was room service and housekeeping, making things convenient.

I found Hotel Casantica to be charming and well-located, but there were a few drawbacks during my stay. The vibrant atmosphere is lovely, though noise from the pool area made it tough to relax in my room. While the staff was friendly, the restaurant service was disappointingly slow, so I opted to explore local dining options instead.

Rooms
5.0
My room was very small and faced the pool, which made it noisy at times. The windows were tiny, providing minimal light and comfort.
Service
5.0
Although the staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, the service was slow, especially at the restaurant. Waiting lengthy periods for simple orders was quite frustrating.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is a major plus, just a block from the Zocalo and central to most tourist activities in Oaxaca. I loved being able to walk around and immerse myself in the local scene.
Dining
5.0
The food at the hotel restaurant left much to be desired. I found it better to explore the many wonderful eateries just outside the hotel instead.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel has a nice layout with a couple of courtyards and a pool, but the noise from both was a downside. The amenities were decent, but not eye-catching.

6.6/10

I really enjoyed the location of Hotel Casantica, which is right in the heart of Oaxaca City. The historical charm of the building was fascinating, and the heated pool was a nice touch. However, my experience was marred by the noise levels from the pool area and the small size of my room. Additionally, I faced issues with the air conditioning not working properly during my stay.

Rooms
5.0
My room was disappointingly small, almost like a closet, with very few windows and limited ventilation. The noise from surrounding areas was unbearable, making it difficult to relax.
Service
5.0
The staff were friendly but often seemed overwhelmed, and I faced challenges with maintenance requests that were not addressed in a timely manner.
Location

The hotel's location is terrific, just a few blocks from major attractions like the zocalo and museums, which was a major plus for me.
Dining

I enjoyed several meals at the hotel restaurant, which offered a good variety of dishes and great service at reasonable prices.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel facilities included a heated pool and decent room service, but issues with the air conditioning affected my overall comfort.

I had a mixed experience at Hotel Casantica. The location was fantastic, just a couple of blocks from the main plaza, allowing easy access to bars, restaurants, and local attractions. However, I was disappointed with some aspects of the hotel, from the noise levels to the cleanliness of the pool and the quality of the restaurant. Overall, it was a convenient stay but with significant flaws.

Rooms
6.0
My room felt quite cramped, with a short staircase leading to the bed. There were no windows, making it feel like a jail cell at times. The decor was charming, but the bathroom was in need of serious upgrades.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when I needed assistance. However, communication could be an issue if you don't speak Spanish. They did help me store my luggage before check-in.
Location
9.0
Location was definitely the highlight of my stay. Just a short walk to the vibrant center of Oaxaca. This made it incredibly easy to explore the city and find dining options nearby.
Dining
5.0
I enjoyed the breakfast offered at the hotel, but I wouldn’t recommend dining there for other meals. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby that stay open late.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were generally lacking, with a dirty pool and no elevators. The Wi-Fi was also barely functional in my room, which was frustrating.
